John’s litte “oh” face in Scandal in Belgravia (yesss dat acting, all the awards for Martin Freeman) when Irene said that he and Sherlock are a couple made me wonder what exactly went through his head at that moment.
And then I remembered a scene from the movie “Corrina, Corrina” which I thought was HILARIOUS as a kid (in which the widower and his housekeeper have basically become so used to their shared domesticity that they didn’t even notice when they kissed goodbye until seconds later XD)

The Heart on Your Sleeve
Sherlock stared at the imperfect circle on his left wrist in horror, then sat down on his bed with a bit of a thump. After over thirty years, his heartmark was finally showing activity. This was not good.
I’d read this a couple of days ago, then it was submitted, and that makes me very happy. Because you all really really need to read this. It’s so wonderful. So many feels. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and then a little less heartbreaking later. I love fanfic like this, nearly any of them, where you have a mark or something like it revealing how you feel. Or soulmates. I haven’t read anything quite like this one though and I loved it. The emotion was so intense and lovely. It made my heart ache and I teared up. Okay, maybe more than teared up. It’s so good. Fantastic!
